Growing Tips and Techniques for Cultivating Tree of Life Marijuana
This rare hybrid is a cross between Trainwreck and Mendocino Purple and was developed by Oregon OMMP growers. The result is a plant that produces large quantities of sativa-leaning buds with rich, complex flavors that evoke a sense of spiritual awakening. The small, round buds are colored a soft sage green with honey-shaded pistils. During flowering, Tree of Life produces abundant frosty white trichomes that create a sticky coating for the buds.
The leaves are pinnately compound, featuring a central stem or rachis in which leaflets attach to each side. One leave can be as long as 4 feet with up to 40 leaflets shaped like lances. When dried, the herb reveals a pleasant aroma with notes of lemons and oranges, and when smoked, it tastes earthy with subtle citrusy notes.
Manual removal is effective at controlling this plant when it’s in its early stages of growth. Plants should be pulled or dig out when the soil is moist to ease root removal. Regular monitoring or visual inspection of sites where the weed is present will help prevent its spread. Cutting or mowing the plants on a monthly basis can also be helpful in slowing their growth and inhibiting flower, fruit, and seed production.
